Midwest Military Outreach

Supporting those who serve and their families

AVAST: Amputee Veterans of America Support Team; Tampa, Florida. We are made up of Veterans from all branches of the service, who have dedicated their lives to helping other Veterans who are amputees or have other disabilities. We have partnered with James Haley Veterans Hospital, Adaptive Golf program. This group meets every Friday at Terrace Hill golf course, along with Ken Juhn, golf pro who teaches the fundamentals of golf. AVAST has also put together the only amputee color guard in AMERICA. We present the colors around the country to honor all Veterans past and present.

We attended the National Veterans Tee Tournament; held September 2012 at Riverside Casino & Golf Resort in Riverside, Iowa. There we had the honor of meeting Michelle Reuss who were volunteers with the Tee Tournament logistics team at the event. We were so impressed with the way they handle themselves professionally and how they made each Veteran feel special. We would like to thank them for their hospitality and the way they supported the Veterans, it made for an unforgettable experience. Midwest Military Outreach, Inc should feel very proud to have these ladies as part of their nonprofit.
