In the fall of 2012 Midwest Military Outreach, Inc. (MMO) pulled together a team of military veterans to coordinate and assist with a dramatic flag display at the University of Iowa Kinnick Stadium. In particular; they provided leadership, administration and guidance for the entire project – a major undertaking that included the coordination of 200 volunteer veterans as they unfurled a United States flag the size of the entire football field.
MMO worked diligently in the preparation and planning for this event and then they participated in the actual unfurling exercise prior to the start of the Iowa-Purdue football game on November 10, 2012 – officially designated as the “Iowa Veterans Game”. In this capacity Michelle provided not only overall guidance to the 200 volunteer veterans but were “hands on” volunteers as well at the actual flag unfurling. Indeed, it was a major undertaking that involved split-timing logistics and execution. Training was brief but intense and the actual American flag display was performed flawlessly.
