Kevlars to Careers-A Welcome Home Veterans Event

The Cook County Recorder of Deeds’ Office, along with the Cook County Department of Veteran’s Affairs - Bureau of Administration, the Allen J. Lynch Medal of Honor Veterans Assistance Program, Malcolm X College and Chicago Veterans is proud to host an innovative veteran’s symposium that will benefit military veterans and those servicemen and women in the Chicagoland area who have separated service within the past five years.
Servicemembers and veterans are encouraged to bring proof of service and/or military ID.
This is a “Welcome Home” event to honor the brave men and women who have served to protect our country by providing them with assistance to overcome some of the challenges they may face as they transition into civilian life. Workshops will include healthcare (VA Medical care including vision/dental, health screenings, personal training); VA and State Benefits (educational benefits, protecting their DD-214, Post 9/11 GI Bill, emergency assistance, housing, home loans, grants); and new life planning (transitioning into civilian workforce, vocational/rehab training, OTJ Training, Vets Success Campus, protection from scams, etc.).

Parking is available in the garage and on-street. Enter building on Wolcott Street entrance.
